Hampton Inn & Suites Raleigh/Cary
8:15 Registration, Networking, Breakfast
Program 8:30 - 11:30 am
What Is Temperament and Why Does It Matter? Have you ever wondered why you seem to have a recurring experience with others who naturally see things differently? For example, do you typically: Take a hands-on approach and figure it out as you go? Wish others would follow rules and procedures and learn from the past? Approach a problem from the systems level first, then consider details? Like to impact others and naturally serve as a bridge between individuals or groups? If so, you may find some answers by understanding your own temperament preference, how it differs with the preference of others with whom you work and live, and how the differences can sometimes drive everyone crazy.
Learning Goals: Upon completing this training, you will be able to:
1. List the 4 Temperaments, their strengths and differences.
2. Identify the potential blind spots of each Temperament.
3. Identify your own potential blind spots and ways to work around them.
4. Identify ways that you can be misperceived by other temperaments.
5. Identify the temperament-related concerns of others whom you work with.
6. Identify and learn ways to avoid common misunderstandings.
7. Identify ways to build trust and to improve communication between people
of different temperaments, both one-on-one and in meetings.
